Club coaches Moore and Michael Hutchinson organised a doubles tournament at the courts on 26 August in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. A superb total of £485.81 was raised from the participants on the day and from many others in the period leading up to the event. Moore and Michael recently presented a cheque for that amount to a Marie Curie fundraiser at the courts. Many thanks to all who participated or gave donations to Moore or Michael.

We have great news to report - the club's Boys Under 14 team are joint winners of Division 3 of the Boys Under 14 league. Many congratulations to the boys in the squad and to coaches Moore and Michael Hutchinson for coaching them to be able to achieve this. As joint winners the boys are also in the semi-final of the Challenge Cup, which will take place next week. Good luck to the boys in the cup.

On Saturday 2 October Moore and his coaching team held a parent and child doubles tournament to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Congratulations to winners Colin and Luke McMordie and runners-up Olivia Millar and Jack Magowan. Thanks to the participants, other parents, people who attend Moore's coaching and St. Patrick's tennis club members a tremendous amount of £478.24 was raised for this very worthwhile charity. Well done to Moore and his coaching team and to all who contributed.

There will be a doubles competition at the courts on Sunday 29 August, starting at 2.00 pm. Just turn up and we will allocate players to a doubles team.

This is a fun day.

Refreshments will be provided and there will be trophies for the winning pairs.

Yesterday, 31 July, the 2nd parent/child tournament, organised by club coach Moore Hutchinson, took place. There were 12 pairs and the day was very enjoyable and competitive. Despite some rain earlier it stayed dry the rest of the afternoon. The tournament winners were Jade and Nigel, who beat Sam and Stephen in the final. Well done to all who took part and to Moore for organising the event. See more photos and a video on the club Facebook page.
